The Explore Your Future classes still have openings.  Register today, because class size is limited.  This is a wonderful opportunity to discover things you did not know about yourself, ponder what to do with your spare time after retirement, or plan a new career.  In jsut 4 Thursday evenings you can plan your future, for FREE!  Directions for registration are on the Calendar of Events page.  Follow them today, because the first class is October 14.

Congratulations to all our Rising Stars: 2010!  55 attended our kick-off event on National Literacy Day.


Rising Star Awards were presented to:

September 13 is National Literacy Day and the opening day of Chambersburg Reads to Inspire Service 2010.  Join the Rising Stars of community volunteerism Monday, 7:00 p.m. at Franklin Firehouse (Franklin & King Sts., and be inspired by the award-winning presentation of Kathy Silks, a former vice-president of WITF.

The Chambersburg Reads Committee is gearing up to kick off the 2010 program on National Literacy Day, September 13.  Enter your favorite volunteer to win a "Rising Star" award at the kick-off event.  Sign up to participate in "Explore Your Future" workshops with Kathy Silks of RSVP.  Register to express your creativitiy painting murals in the community (workshop on September 25).  Most of all read one of the recommended titles to "Inspire Service" with your friends!  This is community reading at its best!  Readers from Caledonia to Sideling Hill, and Shippensburg to Blue Ridge Summit, Nova, and Warfordsburg, all are invited to join in this exctiing event for fall.
